What to do with Chilblains?

Chilblains have always been difficult to manage. There are so many unanswered questions and unknowns about the condition which is a really common problem. There is lack of scientific evidence supporting the different treatments has led to a lot of different suggested treatments based on anecdotes. Chilblains are a regional and seasonal problem, so are pretty much unknown in the warmer months and in the warmer climates. There is a paucity of good research on chilblains and what there is you can see in the threads on chilblains from Podiatry Arena and the nature of the anecdotal recommendations.

A recent episode of the livestream, PodChatLive looked at the issues in an episode of Chilblains on PodChatLive:

Some of the issues that were raised were around just what treatments cna be used and what is being done maybe it really is not any better than a placebo and just letting the natural history take its course. Most the treatment involves just protecting the area, keeping the feet warm, using various creams that are recommended for the treatment of chilblains.
